What is a Korean Lash Lift?

Over the years, lash lifts have not only become more popular but also evolved in their techniques. You have the basic lift, the keratin lift, the glueless lift, and now another option: the authentic Korean lift. What sets this apart from the others, and why should you consider it? There are several reasons!

First, it's important to note that not all Korean Lash Lifts are the same. After delving deeply into the topic and completing two certification trainings, I can confidently say that when someone claims to offer the Korean Lash Lift method, it doesn't always mean the authentic Korean method. This is likely due to a lack of knowledge rather than any intentional misrepresentation. Some major companies offer trainings that overlook a key element of a true Korean Lift—the focus on nourishing the lashes throughout the process. Make sure to research and confirm that your esthetician provides all the benefits of a Korean Lift.

Let me break down the steps of performing an authentic Korean Lift.

  1. Taping your lids to achieve maximum exposure and gel pads to secure your lower lashes.

  2. Using a verrrry flat shield for the lifting phase (no glue)

  3. Securing your lashes onto the shield with a glue-balm

  4. A cystemine based lifting solution is thickened and applied roots to tips with cling wrap over

  5. Half way through processing time we remove the solution from the tips and apply pH balancer

  6. Nourishing agent on tips

  7. Solution 1 is removed and a new curved shield is used for Solution 2

  8. Lashes are placed onto new shield with Keratin treatment.

  9. Solution 2 is thickened and applied. Cover with cling wrap.

  10. pH balance to bring lashes back to neutral

  11. Nourishing agent applied roots to tips

  12. Tint

  13. Deep conditioning lash mask

  14. Nourishing gel

That's over five steps dedicated solely to enhancing the health of your lashes. It's wild! No other method in the industry provides such comprehensive lash care.

This method is suitable for anyone but is particularly beneficial for clients with stubborn, thick lashes that point downward. The use of a flat shield during Solution 1 ensures full processing from the base of the roots. No root is missed with this method, allowing for maximum results. For clients with very straight lashes, timing can be challenging. This process ensures proper saturation of the lash for the right duration while maintaining the lash's integrity, especially the tips.

Don't get me wrong, I love OG lash lifts and still use them on my clients, but having the option to offer a method that is so well-suited for many eye and lash types, so focused on lash integrity, and so comfortable for clients is a game changer!
